Acro/Gymnastics CampYouth RecreationHave fun with Acrobatics! Participants will work on flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, tumbling, and more. No prior experience is needed, however, the intermediate/advanced class is recommended to have the ability to do cartwheels, bridges, and handstands prior to registration. Where ages overlap, it is recommended to go up a level if your child has had prior successful experience in acro or gymnastics. BK Hoops Basketball SkillsBasketballTake your game to the next level with BK Hoops! These private and small group basketball skills sessions are designed to help athletes build confidence, improve fundamentals, and develop advanced game skills in a focused and supportive environment. Coach Brady Kienitz will work with each athlete to place them in an appropriate training group based on skill level and experience. 60 minute training opportunities are available for: Beginner/Elementary – Learn the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and game basics. Intermediate/Middle School – Strengthen core skills, improve game awareness, and develop consistency. Advanced/High School – High-level skill development, advanced drills, game-speed training, and competitive preparation. Boy's Basketball SkillsBasketballSkill development workouts for boys basketball players will be held two times a week. Sessions will focus on the development of team and individual skills. Players will learn and improve on the core skills that will be emphasized in the Thunder Hawk basketball program. Weight TrainingYouth RecreationStudents will gain knowledge of equipment and safety procedures with free weights and machine weights. Through weight training exercises, they will improve their muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility/mobility. Girl's Basketball SkillsBasketballThe summer is a great time to work on your skills without having to concentrate on the big games coming up! These skill sessions will include instruction on ball handling, shooting, passing, and offensive moves. This is a great opportunity to improve basketball skills! **No skills July 4-July 10.** *Must register by June 21st to receive a t-shirt.* Please disregard the previous camp schedule that was in the brochure. The new schedule will be Gr. 5-8 (10:00-11:00 AM) and Gr. 9-12 (11:00 AM-12:00 PM). If this new schedule does not work for your child, individual or small group sessions can be offered outside of the two new consolidated sessions. Tee BallYouth BallTee Ball is the first level of organized baseball/softball for youth. Coaches will work with the children on the basic fundamentals. We use small bats, incrediballs, and hit off a tee. Games are modified to the age level. Children must be four years old by September 1, 2025 and have not attended kindergarten during the 2025-2026 school year. Tee Ball does not play against other communities. Tyke BallYouth BallTyke Ball will give children an opportunity to learn basic baseball/softball skills and have some fun playing games against other Montevideo teams. Youth will practice the fundamentals of baseball and hit a soft baseball pitched from a close distance. A tee shall be used after 3 swings. Tyke Ball does not play against other communities. Summer TennisTennisTennis players going into grades 7-12 in the 25-26 school year of all abilities are welcome to join the Thunderhawk varsity coaches in a fun, competitive atmosphere. Our focus will range from practicing fundamental strokes and footwork to advanced techniques and tactics. Girls and boys will be grouped with others of similar age and ability levels in drills and games designed to help each player reach the next level of skill and strategy. We will also put together some matches with tennis programs from area communities as they are available. Bring your racket and join us for a chance to have some fun on the courts and grow as a player. The program includes in-town practices and games, and game days against MRVED towns. Baseball/softball fundamentals will be taught and participants will develop team play concepts. Coaches pitch in this program. Bring your glove, bat, wear a cap, and get ready for some ball! Please check the schedule that is handed out during the first week. Starting Soon23rd Annual Thunderhawk Tennis CampTennisIntroduce your kids to the FUNdamentals of tennis with our exciting camps! The Thunderhawk Varsity Tennis coaches and players provide an introduction to the game for younger players with lots of tennis-like games. The main focus is on FUN, but players will also develop hand-eye coordination, an understanding of the parts of the court, basic strokes, and scoring. Age-appropriate equipment is provided and students of all interest and ability level are welcome. Students can bring their own tennis racket, but there will be some available. Proceeds benefit the Thunderhawk Tennis Program.
