NewStarlight Rising Stars - Children’s Theatre The Lion KingYouth EnrichmentCalling all young performers! Join us for an exciting summer theatre experience as students bring The Lion King to life on stage. Participants will audition, rehearse, create, and perform in this fun and fast-paced production while learning valuable theatre skills, building confidence and teamwork along the way. Auditions for all students will be held on August 3. Participants will then be placed into one of two production groups based on grade level and role. Participants will spend the week learning songs, choreography, acting, and stage movement as they prepare for their performance. In addition to performing, students will help design and create set pieces, props, and lobby displays, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put on a production. Actors will be given an opportunity to participate in BOTH weeks of the workshop in some capacity. At time of registration, please indicate the student’s willingness/availability to attend the second week of workshop and performances. This is optional and there is no additional cost for the second week. Each day participants will be bussed to Sanford Elementary for the FREE lunch program. With a wide variety of edible decorations to choose from, youth will design, frost, and decorate their cupcakes in imaginative ways. From sprinkles and candies to colorful frosting and creative toppings, the possibilities are endless. Every child will be celebrated as a winner, with prizes awarded for creativity, effort, and flair.
