The Montevideo Area Community Band brings together musicians of all ages and experience levels to share the joy of making music. Whether you're a current musician, a former band member dusting off your instrument after many years, or someone looking for a fun and rewarding musical outlet, you'll find a welcoming place here.The band performs a variety of music throughout the year. Membership is open to adults and high school students with previous band experience. There are no auditions—just a love of music and a desire to play! Whether you perform regularly or haven't picked up your instrument in decades, you are encouraged to join us!Fall rehearsals begin Monday, September 21, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the Montevideo Middle School Band Room. Meet the Schoolmaster who took his students to war, dooming their hometown to oblivion; a Hungarian Freedom Fighter who signed up to fight Commies in Vietnam; the Anoka hometown hero who smothered a grenade and lived to tell the tale, and a host of other brave men who fought and died for their Country.
